Monkey Bread Made with Grands Biscuits

Let's start with the basics: monkey bread made with grands biscuits. This classic recipe is a crowd-pleaser, featuring bite-sized pieces of biscuit dough coated in cinnamon sugar and baked to golden perfection. The beauty of using Grand’s biscuits is that they're readily available in the refrigerated section of most grocery stores, making this recipe quick and easy to whip up whenever the craving strikes. Simply pop open a can, cut the biscuits into quarters, and you're ready to roll!

Add Cream Cheese to Monkey Bread

Now, here's where things get really exciting—adding cream cheese to your monkey bread. Trust me when I say this simple addition takes your monkey bread to a whole new level of deliciousness. To incorporate cream cheese into your monkey bread, start by cutting it into small cubes. Then, toss it with the rest of the ingredients. Easy peasy. As the monkey bread bakes, the cream cheese melts into gooey pockets of decadence, creating an irresistible texture and flavor combination that will have everyone coming back for seconds.

Topping Ideas for Monkey Bread:

While the classic combination of cinnamon sugar and cream cheese is undeniably delicious, why not get creative and go a little extra with your toppings? Here are a few ideas to inspire your next batch of monkey bread:

  • Melted Butter: I didn’t add butter to the Monkey Bread recipe, but I wouldn’t be mad if you drizzled some warm melted butter over the top of these beauties.

  • Cream Cheese Glaze: I like cream cheese frosting but scoop any flavor of canned frosting into a microwave-safe bowl and heat it on high for 30 to 45 seconds, stirring in between each interval until you achieve your glaze icings desired consistency.

  • Salted Carmel: Drizzle salted caramel sauce over your warm monkey bread for a rich, indulgent treat that's perfect for special occasions.

How to Bake in Muffin Tins or Bundt Pan:

  • Now that you've chosen your toppings, it's time to decide how you want to bake your monkey bread: in muffin tins or a bundt pan. Both methods yield delicious results, so it ultimately comes down to personal preference and presentation.

    • Muffin Tins: Baking monkey bread in muffin tins creates individual servings that are perfect for sharing. Simply grease the muffin tins well, place the mixture into each cup, and bake until golden brown and bubbly.

    • Bundt Pan: First, you need to make a double batch. Grease the bundt pan thoroughly, add the mixture and bake in the center of the oven until the top is golden brown. Once baked, cool for a few minutes and invert the bundt pan onto a serving platter to reveal the beautiful monkey bread ring.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a muffin tin with nonstick spray, bottoms and sides. (how many muffins you get depends on the muffin tin size. I made 10 larger muffins. You can use 2 muffin tins if needed or make 2 batches)
  2. Combine all ingredients into a bowl and toss with your hands until ingredients are equally distributed.
  3. Bake in the middle rack of the oven for 12-18 minutes, depending on the muffin tin size. Mini muffins will take less time, larger more. You knw know when they are done when they are lightly browned on top.
  4. If baking in a bundt pan, you will need a double batch of the mixture. (2 cans of biscuits etc)
  5. Cool and top with your favorite topping.

Notes

  • Feel free to add 1/2 nuts or 1/2 raisins to your monkey bread mixture before baking.
  • Make in advance: If you’re getting ready for company, you may wish to avoid last minute prep in the kitchen. Grands!™ Monkey Bread can be prepped and refrigerated for up to 1 hour before baking. Tightly cover with foil and refrigerate for up to 1 hour.
  • Although Monkey Bread is best served warm, you do not need to refrigerate the muffins. Instead, store the leftover muffins in an airtight container on your kitchen counter.
