Easy Fourth of July recipes- Fox4
Here are the fun and EASY 4th of July recipes I shared on FOX4. I hope you enjoy them and have a beautiful weekend!
Cut watermelon and feta into small cubes. Stack with a blueberry and a small piece of mint if desired; right before serving, drizzle with a well-aged balsamic if desired.
These sweet fruit sparklers are so fun for the kids to eat and help put together. I sliced a watermelon in thin rounds and used a 3” cookie cutter to stamp out the hears. Super cute.
love this time saving hack. When I don’t feel like making my own cheeseball, I purchase a large cheeseball or log from the store and divide it and roll it into mini cheese logs. I then roll them in fresh herbs or minced crumbled bacon. At Fox I used little 4th of July toothpicks to make them festive.
This “crack dip” isn’t new, but it’s so good and easy I’ve given it my own spin with the add-in’s at the end;)
Crack Dip:
16 oz sour cream
1 oz packet ranch dressing mix
6 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled.
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
Optional add-ins: jalapeños, olives, red peppers, artichokes, or crab. You can slo substitute your favorite cheese foe the cheddar. Yummmmm.
These are just so festive they make me smile. Here I made my brownies (shocker, i know), but you can also use store-bought brownie bites. One tip here, Display them on a level surface, so your brownies don’t break. Also, look for smaller strawberries, so they lay flat as well.
1 roll or package (16.5 oz) of refrigerated Pillsbury™ Sugar Cookie Dough
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/4 cup powdered sugar
3 cups of berries, rinsed and dried well on paper towel
INSTRUCTIONS
Heat oven to 350°F. On an ungreased 9 1/2″ x 13″ baking sheet, press cookie dough evenly in the bottom. Bake for 18 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
In a medium bowl, beat cream cheese, and powdered sugar until well blended.
Spread over COOLED crust.
Now here is when you get creative. On fox I just scattered red white and blue berries over the top, but make a flag or any design you choose.
NOTES
I used a 9 1/2″ x 13″ sheet pan. If using a full-size sheet pan, double the recipe.
I line my baking sheets with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
Sometimes I add a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract to the cream cheese mixture.
You can also drizzle this with melted chocolate as a variation.
Garnish with mint if your fancy
