Shoot Assistant:

Main Responsibility: Assist with food prep, cooking, and clean-up to improve efficiencies for photo/video shoots for food blogger Lauren Lane

Other Important Things You’ll Do: Assist in the production of cooking videos. You will do the cooking and help with different aspects of the video. Will also assist with some photoshoots for daily posts.

Hours: 4-12 hours per week  

Schedule: May vary weekly depending on the video schedule, but usually 1 or 2 mornings a week.

Starting Date: Soon  Salary: $14 an hour

Job Description:

FOOD PREP, COOKING, CLEAN UP:

  • Follow the prep instructions provided by Lauren

  • Organize all ingredients

  • Measure ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking

  • Prep cooking ingredients by washing & chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.

  • Basic cooking duties such as reducing sauces, parboiling food etc.

  • Prepare some dishes independently

  • Maintain a clean & orderly kitchen – washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc.

  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly

  • The occasional grocery run

Looking for a Person Who Is:

  • Proficient knife skills

  • Passionate about food and the design and presentation of food

  • Confident and comfortable in the kitchen

  • Great at following directions willingly and happily – listen and learn!

  • Able to take initiative without direct supervision

  • Detail-oriented and great at juggling lots of tasks

BONUS:   Bonus if the applicant has any of these additional skills: 

  • Videography or video editing skills.

  • Knowledge of SEO

  • Squarespace & editorial skills

  • Google Analytics & Schema markup
